It started with one tray of pies for family
Marian baked her first trays of Nigerian meat pies for family and friends in Southampton. The orders kept coming — for church gatherings, birthdays and the office on a Friday — so the kitchen grew around them.
Every pie is still made the way it was then: pastry mixed and rested, beef and chicken seasoned and cooked down properly, and each pie filled generously and crimped by hand before it goes near the oven. No shortcuts, no thin fillings.
Today Marian's Cottage is a registered UK company baking to order in Southampton and sending boxes chilled to homes across the country.

How it works
From our oven to your table
We bake on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and pack the same day, so the box that reaches you is only days old at most. Orders close Sunday evening for the week ahead.
Beef, chicken or a mixed box. Everything is made to order, so the kitchen only bakes what has been asked for that week.
